Canoeing and Kayaking
CanoeingCanoeing and kayaking is a great way of experiencing nature close up. The huge network of stream, rivers and lakes across the country provide opportunities to get away from the daily grind and explore nature in our local environment.
While enjoying our time on the water we should remember it is important to protect this environment and keep it clean and healthy. Canoist and kayakers have the opportunity to be vigilant for potential threats to water bodies and the local environment, and to report any problems to the local watershed authority.

If you have any concerns about threats to the Ottawa River please contact the Ottawa Riverkeeper's Pollution Hotline.
In this way we can ensure that rivers, lakes and forests remain intact for future generations of users.
You can go further to protect the water you love by getting involved in local watershed activities, such as river clean ups. For activities in your watershed see our watershed's event calendar.
